Background

We Make Your Projects Shine

Founded in 2002 by Francois Roupinian, IALD, Lightemotion is an independent lighting consultancy that combines outstanding design with technical excellence. Our projects span the globe and reflect the international backgrounds and wide-ranging skills of our team, consisting of lighting and theatre designers, lighting engineers, interior architects and marketing consultants.

We translate our clients' design and business objectives into cost-effective and environmentally sustainable lighting solutions that push the boundaries of creativity. Lightemotion prides itself on collaborating closely with architects, interior designers, electrical engineers and their clients to facilitate the best lighting schemes for every project– in terms of aesthetics, function, flexibility, maintenance and cost.

From Our Origins in the Theatre…
Lighting That Really Performs

It is no coincidence that Lightemotion originated in the performing arts – a creative platform that calls for artistic sensibility and diversity of talent. In its first ten years, Lightemotion collaborated with, learned from and was inspired by theatre, dance and music projects.

Lightemotion has worked with several internationally renowned institutions and creators, including Cirque du Soleil, Pierre-Paul Savoie of Danse PPS, choreographer Erick Villeneuve, and artists such as Michael Snow and multimedia duo Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon.

Upon this creative and technical foundation in theatre, we have developed a body of work full of sensory environments that showcase the architecture and design of every project, that enhance the human experience, regardless of size.
